Our Texas Adventure: San Antonio & Corpus Christi

Our Texas Adventure Continued: San Antonio & Corpus Christi

Corey and I made our way down to the gulf coast and stopped by San Antonio for a week to do some sightseeing and visit some old Navy buddies. We loved visiting the ocean, but didn't love the humidity or the wind.

Exploring San Antonio

Our first stop in San Antonio was to the Medina River Recreation Area for a little hike.  After spending the winter in the Arizona desert, it was nice to find an area with green foliage and a river for the dog to get some water time. Next, we made our way along the famous River Walk, enjoying the scenery, lively atmosphere, and of course the tex-mex. While we were in the area, we stopped by and visited the Alamo. Lastly, Corey and I got together with some old USS Belleau Wood shipmates.  Can't believe it has been over 30 plus years since we last saw each other.

Corpus Christi: Wind, Humidity, and the Ocean.

Next, we headed to Corpus Christi for some time by the shore. We stayed at the family campground at the Naval Air Station Corpus Christi.  The campground was pretty nice, it was right on the water and the spaces had plenty of room between campers.  The beaches were stunning, but the wind just never stopped.  That might have been a blessing, considering how humid it was.  We are not much of "bird watchers", but we kept finding ourselves checking out the birds here.  Loved seeing the pelicans diving into the ocean.

Thank you for being a part of our journey. We hope these pictures bring a smile to your face!
