Our Texas Adventure: San Antonio & Corpus Christi

Image
Our Texas Adventure Continued: San Antonio & Corpus Christi Corey and I made our way down to the gulf coast and stopped by San Antonio for a week to do some sightseeing and visit some old Navy buddies. We loved visiting the ocean, but didn't love the humidity or the wind.   Exploring San Antonio Our first stop in San Antonio was to the Medina River Recreation Area for a little hike.  After spending the winter in the Arizona desert, it was nice to find an area with green foliage and a river for the dog to get some water time. Next, we made our way along the famous River Walk, enjoying the scenery, lively atmosphere, and of course the tex-mex. While we were in the area, we stopped by and visited the Alamo. Lastly, Corey and I got together with some old USS Belleau Wood shipmates.  Can't believe it has been over 30 plus years since we last saw each other.   Medina River Beau's favorite activity...getting us dirty. The campground was about 50% full, which made it nice to not have many neighbors.   If I am up on something, Beau thinks he has to be up there as well. Turtle jail! He figured out how to escape. Great view from the camping spot for the night. Caverns of Sonora This was our stop on the second night of our...
