Utah Visit: Antelope Island, Little Sahara, Rocky Peak, and St. George

After spending the month of September and the first week of October in Idaho, it was time for us to make our way to St. George, Utah.  Our reservations in St. George didn't start until November 1st, so we had some time to burn and took our time getting there.

Our first stop along the way was at Antelope Island, which is near our home in Layton.  It gave us the opportunity to have the grandkids come camp with us for the weekend.  While they didn't get to see any antelope, the bison and coyotes were out and about in numbers.  We stayed at the Antelope Island Bridger Bay Campground.  It didn't have power, but on the plus side, the bison could wander in as they pleased. There were always a couple hanging out our entire time there.

After our visit at home, we continued our way down south with a stop at the Little Sahara Sand Dunes to do some riding with family and friends. We prefer to stay at the Oasis Campground, as it is less busy than camping at Sand Mountain.

Next stop along the way was to the Three Peaks Recreation area near Enoch Utah for a week.  This area had a lot to offer: two campgrounds, two disk golf courses, mountain bike, hiking and atv trails, a shooting range, and two RC parks.  The rock formations and the views were pretty cool. We stayed at the Rocky Peak Campground, which didn't have power or water, but on the plus side, there was only two of us camping there out of 15 sites.  Our site was a bit sloped, since I had to pick it based on my research using google maps.  We made it work.

I don't think this belongs here and Beau agrees

Our last stop in Utah, on our way south was St. George, where we spent a month.  During our time in St. George, we got in a few hikes, spent many days at the lake with the dogs, got a ride or two in the rzr, made lots of new friends and ran into a few old friends (Colleen, Dustin, Mike).  We stayed at the Settlers Point Luxury RV Resort.  This place was awesome and had some really great amenities.  We definitely got our use out of the hot tub and pool.

Unfortunately, this is the end of the journey for our 11 year old lab, Titus.  He had some tumors removed a few months ago and after analyzing them, the vet warned us that the cancer was aggressive and would come back and boy did it.  During the past four months of our travels, he got to play in more lakes and rivers than the previous 10.5 years of his life combined.  He will be missed.

An that is all for Utah.  On to Arizona and some warmer temperatures!
