Tucson and Benson - Last Month in Arizona

Image
The month of March has absolutely flown by this year. We spent our time between Tucson and Benson, Arizona.  While the heat was a bit much, we still got out and saw everything we intended to see.   Tucson We stayed at the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base famcamp, Boneyard Vista. It was nice to be on a military base with all of the amenities; gym, commissary, PX, and a quick trip to the base vet so Beau could stay current on his vaccines.  The campground was right next to the aircraft storage facility known as the "boneyard".  There are approximately 4000 military aircraft retired here from every branch of service.   Loved seeing the road runners in the campground. Mt. Lemmon This was our first sightseeing trip in Tucson.  We went from 95 degrees in the valley up to 70 degrees in the mountains.   Tucson in the distance. Beau really missed the Utah snow this year. One happy dog. Saguaro National Park What is this Saguaro running from? Patagoni...

Winter in Yuma 2026

This building is at the Castle Dome Ghost town and has military veteran names written all over the walls.  Very surreal to look through all of those names.   One of four rooms in this building with servicemembers names.  Corey found a small space and added mine.  Very cool.   Yuma Territorial State Prison Glamis Sand Dunes Beau got some new goggles. Need some paddles to get up that hill a bit faster. Tumco Townsite Ghost Town Over 90 unmarked grave sites in this ghost town.  Beau can always find a good shade on a sunny day. ...
